Goyal targets Bandra-Versova-Bhayander Coastal Road for Dec 2028

Union Minister and Mumbai MP Piyush Goyal announced that the government aims to complete the ambitious Bandra-Versova-Bhayander Coastal Road project by December 2028, with a final outer target timeline set for March 2029.
Following a comprehensive site inspection and high-level progress review alongside municipal authorities, the Minister noted that work on the Bandra-Versova segment is advancing swiftly. Meanwhile, construction on the Versova-Bhayander stretch has officially commenced following the clearance of all statutory approvals.

The upcoming high-speed coastal corridor is designed to dramatically reduce severe peak-hour traffic bottlenecks, cut down long cross-city commutes along Mumbai’s western seaboard, and integrate seamlessly with ongoing regional transport and urban water security upgrades. State and municipal agencies remain fully mobilized to meet the targeted milestone.

Meanwhile, Piyush Goyal was briefed by Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar on the status, timelines and expected public benefits of the projects.
