Prime Minister Modi met with 36 lawmakers from the Rajya Sabha amidst an informal breakfast session. During the interaction, the Prime Minister advised members of Parliament to maintain deep ties with their local roots and constituencies.
Emphasizing the privilege of serving in the Upper House, the Prime Minister noted that thousands of individuals aspire to public service roles, and lawmakers must cherish and respect the responsibility entrusted to them. He explicitly cautioned the parliamentarians to stay away from lobbyists, power brokers, and vested interests who attempt to get close to representatives under the guise of friendly assistance.
The Prime Minister further encouraged newer members to responsibly utilize parliamentary resources, such as making active use of the Parliament library and leveraging technology constructively to remain transparent and accessible to the public.
