While speaking at the inauguration of producer Namit Malhotra’s new Prime One facility at Film City, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis delivered high praise for the highly anticipated cinematic adaptation of Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Emphasizing the exceptional global potential of the project, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, the Chief Minister remarked: He would be very disappointed with the jury of the Academy Awards if Ramayana didn’t get an Oscar. It’s not a film of a decade; it’s a film of a millennium.”
Fadnavis noted that the grand scale and visual mastery of the two-part mythological saga backed by state-of-the-art technological infrastructure in Mumbai represent the ideal way to present India’s foundational cultural narratives to the new generation on the world stage.
The first installment of Ramayana is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026.
