Marking a monumental milestone in Indian cinema, veteran actor Anil Kapoor celebrated 25 years of the 2001 cult classic “Nayak” The Real Hero. S. Shankar’s directorial and originally a Hindi adaptation of the Tamil blockbuster
“Mudhalvan”, the film features Kapoor as Shivaji Rao, an ordinary television camerman-turned-anchor thrust into the role of Chief Minister for a single day.
Driven by hard-hitting dialogues, intense confrontations with the late Amrish Puri (who played antagonist Balraj Chauhan), and a deep-rooted social core, the film has transitioned from a modest theatrical run into a legendary fan favourite through continuous television syndication.
