In a major casting coup for Indian cinema, Saif Ali Khan and Triptii Dimri are reportedly set to lead the highly anticipated Meena Kumari biopic “Kamal Aur Meena” a OTT Giant Netflix original film film a Siddharth P Malhotra directorial.
The film will chronicle the legendary and tumultuous 20-year love story between the legendary actress Meena Kumari widely revered as the “Tragedy Queen” of Indian cinema, and acclaimed filmmaker Kamal Amrohi.
Saif Ali Khan is slated to step into the shoes of the visionary director, while Dimri will take on the monumental task of portraying the enigmatic screen goddess.
Adding deep personal authenticity to the project, the biopic is being produced by Bilal Amrohi
the grandson of Kamal Amrohi and Meena Kumari.
The narrative is expected to delve deep into the couple’s intense creative partnership, passionate romance, and the profound personal struggles that ultimately shaped their lives. A major focal point of the film will be the turbulent, decades-long journey behind the creation of their cinematic masterpiece, Pakeezah.
