Off-Screen: Raveena’sheart-led journey of motherhood and grace

Beyond the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, celebrated actress Raveena Tandon’s most profound production remains her vibrant, closely-knit blended family.
Long before modern discussions around unconventional family dynamics emerged mainstream, Raveena redefined celebrity motherhood through a path built entirely on love and intuition.

In 1995, at the young age of 21, Tandon made the pioneering choice to become a single mother by adopting her late cousin’s daughters, Pooja and Chhaya, who were then 11 and 8 years old. Defying industry stereotypes, she raised them independently, providing a nurturing home while balancing a peak film career.
The family expanded beautifully in 2004 following her marriage to prominent film distributor Anil Thadani.

Together, they welcomed two biological children: Rasha, born in 2005, and Ranbirvardhan, born in 2008. Rather than creating a divide, the significant age gap fostered an incredibly unique bond. Raised as “second mothers” to their younger siblings, Pooja and Chhaya helped cultivate a deeply supportive, multi-generational household.

As of today, this sprawling family story has evolved to include grandchildren, celebrating major milestones with the same warmth that defined its beginnings. Despite the passing years and the children growing into accomplished adults, the close-knit bond remains entirely unchanged. Managed through a lively family chat affectionately dubbed the “Brats” group, they remain above all else proudly anchored by their matriarch.
