Bound by Immortal Bow: Screen warrior relinquishes earthly name for the spirit of Arjun

For an entire generation, actor Feroz Khan became universally known as Arjun after portraying the legendary archer in B.R. Chopra’s landmark 1988 television epic Mahabharat, a defining transformation that prompted him to legally adopt Arjun as his professional moniker on the advice of Chopra and writer Rahi Masoom Raza.

The veteran performer established his versatile footprint across Hindi cinema and television spanning decades, transitioning from his 1984 film debut in “Manzil Manzil” to memorable turns in “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak”, “Tirangaa” “Karan Arjun”, and “Mehndi” while extending his small-screen legacy through acclaimed roles in “Vishnu Puran”, “Betaal Pachisi” “Gul Sanobar”, and “CID”, alongside a proud family legacy carried forward by his children, including actor Jibraan Khan of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham fame.
