Puneet fires a salvo at celebrities in politics

Veteran actor Puneet Issar has drawn a sharp line in the sand, demanding that film artists abandon political activism and public demonstrations to focus strictly on their craft.
In a pointed critique aimed at actors participating in public rallies like the CJP platform, Issar asserted that a performer’s primary and singular mandate is to entertain the masses.

He stated that dabbling in political causes or using celebrity influence to weigh in on sensitive national debates cheapens the dignity of the profession.
The seasoned actor further went on to add that those who harbor a genuine, burning ambition to shape public policy should formally resign from the studios, shed the comfort of stardom, and step into the political arena on a full-time basis. Mixing the two, according to Issar, misleads audiences and turns serious governance into a superficial exercise driven by fame rather than actual administrative grit.
