Surendra Srivastava is no new name in the ‘Mecca’ of Hindi films Bollywood.

His book “Sagar Se Sangam Tak” reveals his journey from Allahabad, now renamed Prayagraj to Mumbai, the financial hub.

He landed in Mumbai to pursue his studies further
But with all admissions closed, he was left with no option, but to join Times of India in the Advt.department. He gave up the job after putting in three years of service.

Thereafter he got associated with reputed filmmaker
Chetan Anand, Music Wizards Shankar-Jaikishan widely considered the greatest-ever Music Composers of the Hindi Film Industry, House of Nadiadwalas, film production house of repute.

After tasting success, Surendra got associated with Aftab Pictures in the year 1979 as Head of Production and helmed big films like Qayamat, Loha, Batwara, Jigar, Doodh ka karz,Izzat, Phool Aur Angar and many more as Publicist.

After his 16 years association with Aftab Pictures from 1979 to 1995, he relinquished his services to foray into film production and produced films such as Jurmana, Suraj, Kahani Kismat Ki and Aaj Ka Rawan.
As against the four films, three films proved super hits. It is a matter of pride that Mithun Chakraborty has worked in all his four films.

On knowing about Surendra’s credentials, Filmmaker J.P.Dutta called him to his office to handle his prestigious film “LOC-KARGIL” which had more than 20 heros and eight top heroines. It proved a challenge for Surendra to handle the project. But, with his experience, he handled it diligently with no flaws.

He garnered lot of appreciation and won awards and rewards for handling such a big film.
He was honoured with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Academy award for his meritorious contribution to the Hindi Film Industry.

In his most ambitious book
“Sagar Se Sangam Tak”, he has shared with elaan, his working style and the relations with the industry’s big producers, actors and directors. It is just not a book, but an encyclopedia.

Notably, it was one of his friend who suggested him to script his precious experience in a book format. He took it seriously. Thus, SAGAR SE SANGAM TAK” his cherished journey, saw the light of day.

Raveena Prakashan, the publishers of his book, declared his name as Best Seller of his book which is being kept in World Book Fair in Delhi.

Meanwhile Surendra Srivastava needs best wishes and appreciations from people all those having connect with the Hindi Film Industry for scripting the book which is a treasure
