DCP Narcotics Datta Nalawade informed that in two operations, Rs 18.5 lakhs worth MD drug was seized from Nagpada , another operation 10 years absconding accused was nabbed from UP. Both the operations was conducted by Azad Maidan ANC- Anti-Narcotics cell of the Mumbai Police. Two accused in the MD case nabbed from Nagpada are Akhtar Ahmed Abdul Salam Ansari and Abdul Hamid Musa Hadiya @ Chinku. Case has been registered CR/81/2021 under various sections of the NDPS act, The wanted accused named from UP is Abu Harera Kudus Khan.
In the first operation headed by ANC- Azad Maidan Unit headed by Sandeep Kale , Rajendra Dahifale, Siddharam Mhetre, Abhijit Patil, Mansingh Kale and others founr a person suspiciously moving around in Nagpada, when checked found Rs 6,00,000 worth MD Drug on him further investigations led to the other accused and a total of 175 grams of MD was recovered.
In the other operation a team was sent to Siddharth Nagar UP, based on a NBW issued by Court no 42, Court case no 88/2010, case no 36/2010. The accused was tipped of , shut his mobile and escaped. The team waited back and nabbed him when he came back to Gram Panchayat, presuming the team had left.
