MMRDA Commissioner -SVR Srinivas protecting Bribery Tainted COO- Mono rail DLN Murthy- State Govt has recommended action- ICGS

The ICGS- will lead a delegation to Hon’ble CM of Maharashtra to highlight the reluctance of MMRDA Commissioner SVR Srinivas to take action against bribe tainted COO- Mono Rail- DLN Murthy. The ICGS will request CM Uddhav Thackeray to conduct inquiry on all decisions taken by Bribe tainted COO Mono Rail Mr Murthy including  CCTV, Rockwell, APS Tender, RST tender. ACB- Anti Corruption Bureau has clearly mentioned “established fact of “demand of bribe” made”. Yet he signs important files.

Govt  has given the permission for prosecution. In a letter addressed by Urban Development Ministry MMRDA/3321/893/7 addressed to MMRDA Commissioner and copy marked to Anti-Corruption Bureau says that COO- Mono Rail is a MMRDA contractual appointee. Principal Secretary UD-1 Bhushan Gagrani said, “that COO-Mono Rail is a contractual appointment by MMRDA and not State Govt appointed. So ACB can prosecute directly no Govt permission required. Yes Departmental action is necessary”

CM Uddhav Thackeray in an email response had mentioned, that the matter is referred to Principal Urban Secretary, UD-1 Mr Bhushan Gagrani for further action. Urban Development Ministry in an official communication to MMRDA Commissioner SVR Srinivas mentioned of letter received from Anti Corruption Bureau – asking for Departmental action the letter from Urban Development Ministry was received by MMRDA Commissioners office on 7/9/21 . The MMRDA Commissioner has been sitting on it since then. The ICGS- Investor and Consumer guidance Society mentioned, “even now the Bribe-tainted COO Mono-Rail Mr DLN Murthy is signing important files, that is the mockery of democracy and rule of law.”

 

The ICGS said, “There are startling allegations of Corruption on Dr DR D L N Murthy- COO- Mumbai Monorail – Investigations are required in all cases CCTV, Rockwell, APS Tender, RST tender. all cases handled by COO-DLN Murthy. Pending inquiry the “Investors and Consumers Guidance Society request that DR D L N Murthy- COO- Mumbai Monorail – be suspended/ step down till the Anti Corruption Bureau of the Mumbai Police investigates the whole matter

1] On Press note issued by ACP Alka Deshmukh on 16/8/21 the ACB anti- corruption Bureau of Maharashtra Police filed an FIR.

2] On 16/8/21 the ACB- Maharashtra Police specifically mentioned in its press release that a bribe of Rs 20,00,000 was demamded by the COO of the Mumbai Mono-rail Division of MMRDA

3] There are various other charges this department headed by COO is facing

4] The case registered by ACB- Maharashtra CR 35/2021, goes on to say, ” on the investigations done on 2/7/21 it is established that a bribe amount of Rs 20,00,000- has been demanded by the COO Mr DR D L N Murthy- COO- Mumbai Monorail “.

5] If the ACB has conducted an enquiry as mentioned in the Press Release and which is on record, then it is established that the bribe amount was asked.

6] If it is an established fact that the bribe amount has been asked then DR D L N Murthy- COO- Mumbai Monorail has to resign or be suspended pending inquiry. OR ELSE WILL INFLUENCE INVESTIGATIONS

The ICGS is going ahead with its Gandhian protest outside MMRDA Commissioners office on 17/9/21. There will be continuous Gandhian protests till action is taken against Bribe Tainted COO- Mono Rail Dr DLN Murthy, they said.
