News were making the rounds of some BJP workers making irrelevant comments on his film “Selfie”. Akshay claimed we make films, then go to the censor board, to get the film certified and then someone says something and later turns out to be beu. “Selfi”.

Actor Akshay Kumar on Sunday, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for asking BJP workers to refrain from making unnecessary remarkus on films.

In his address to the BJP national executive meeting on Tuesday, PM Modi suggested party workers to refrain from making unnecessary remarks on irrelevant issues such as movies, saying that they put the party*s development agenda on the back-burner, party sources said.

Akki continued that PM was India’s biggest influencer and if his words can bring about some change it will be great for the film industry. Swami Saranam Positivity is always welcome. And if our Prime Minister is saying something like this.

He further added why not, things should change, because we go through so much. Film bodies Indian Film and Television Director’s Association (IFTDA) and Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had earlier appreciated PM Modi’s comment and called it a big boost of confidence for the Hindi film industry.

Directed by Raj Mehta, “Selfiee” is an official remake of the 2019 Malayalam blockbuster
“Driving License featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The Hindi film version features Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha. It is produced by Johar’s Dharma Productions and Akshay’s Cape of Good Films along with Sukumaran’s Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames.

Hashmi feels elated to associate with Akshay as the he was the first celebrity to financially help him for his son’s cancer diagnosis in 2014. He added when his child had an health issue, Akshay Kumar was the first to come forward to help

Notably, Akshay Kumar’s “Selfiee” is the latest addition to the list of two-hero films and Hashmi had featured in. The actor wasn’t averse to working in multistarrer when the content is “good”. For Hashmi it does not matter if the film is of one hero or two heroes. Only good content is important to him. “Selfiee” is scheduled to hit the cinema halls on February 24.
