Project K: Release in jeopardy following Amitabh Bachchan’s setback Jan 2024 release not possible
The producers have now put off the release date of Project K: scheduled for January 2024 release owing to setback in
Amitabh Bachchan’s health.
The film features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan.
Director, Nag Ashwin, and the producers, Vyjayanthi Movies, are reportedly not rushing Bachchan and are willing to wait until he is fit to resume shooting. Consequently, it seems unlikely that ‘Project K’ will meet its previously announced release date of January 2024.
Earlier, the film’s makers had announced that ‘Project K’ would hit the screens on January 12, 2024, strategically aligning with the Sankranti holidays. However, considering Bachchan’s recovery process, the film might not be ready in time.
Sources close to the film unit have revealed that the production team is prioritizing Bachchan’s well-being and wants to give him ample time to recover without any pressure.
Amitabh Bachchan sustained a severe injury during the shoot of ‘Project K,’ as confirmed by his social media post. He mentioned breaking a rib and experiencing rib cartilage damage and muscle tear to the right rib cage. Following the incident, he cancelled the shoot and sought medical consultation and scans at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad before returning home for further treatment.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, known for his acclaimed film ‘Mahanati,’ ‘Project K’ is a dystopian movie that boasts a massive budget. The behind-the-scenes videos released so far have provided glimpses of the filmmakers’ efforts to create a unique and immersive world for this action-packed thriller.
In the meantime, Prabhas is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, ‘Adipurush,’ which is based on the Hindu epic mythology, Ramayana. The recently unveiled trailer received positive feedback, with improvements in the visual effects department compared to the earlier criticized teaser. Adipurush is set to hit the screens on June 16, building anticipation among fans.
As fans eagerly await updates on ‘Project K,’ they can look forward to Prabhas’ grand portrayal of Lord Rama in ‘Adipurush,’ which promises to be a visual spectacle and a compelling retelling of the ancient epic.
