Delhi CM Kejriwal Congress Prez Mallikarjun Kharge other political leaders face police case
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Congress Prez Mallikarjun Kharge and other political leaders face police action over incite-full statements citing the caste of President Droupadi Murmu in relation to the new Parliament Building inauguration.
The complainant accused Kejriwal, Kharge, and others of promoting enmity among communities and trying to generate distrust for GoI to fulfill their political motives.
The complaint has been registered under section 121,153A,505, and 34 IPC.
Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and other opposition parties, reportedly have been targeting the BJP-led central government for not inviting President Droupadi Murmu to the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building.
As many as 20 parties including Congress, CPI, AAP and Trinamool Congress have announced that they would boycott the event.
As per Opposition parties in a joint statement, the inauguration of a new Parliament building is an historic occasion.
Notwithstanding their belief that the government is threatening democracy, and their disapproval of the autocratic manner in which the new Parliament was built, we were open to sinking our differences and marking this occasion.
The joint statement also added, Nevertheless, Prime Minister Modi’s decision to inaugurate the new Parliament building by himself, “completely sidelining President Droupadi Murmu, is not only a grave insult but a direct assault on democracy which demands a commensurate response.
The statement also in its statement wrote on Article 79 of the Constitution and wrote, “There shall be a Parliament for the Union which shall consist of the President and two Houses to be known respectively as the Council of States and the House of the People.”
PM Modi inaugurates the new Parliament building on May 28 following an invitation by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
