Actor Aanjjan Srivastava recalls Amitabh Bachchan owned ABCL’s financial fiasco

Recently over a media interaction, the actor spilled the beans over his bond with the Legend Amitabh Bachchan.
The actor recalled the 80s and the 90s when Amitabh Bachchan was literally navigating to a low phase in his life.
Aanjjan Srivastava also recalls ABCL’s financial fiasco. He added that one day with folded hands ensured to return his money as soon as possible’.
Readers may apparently be aware that in the 1980s, amid the renowned Bofors Scandal, Amitabh Bachchan’s name figured in it and for a long span of time, it had impacted on his reputation and status.
While recollecting those days when Bachchan was shooting for the film Toofan, Aanjjan Srivastava in the interview with “Rajshri Unplugged” affirmed that he had gone to the Filmistan Studios in Goregaon West on the sets of Toofan to find out how he is feeling.
In those days, in Kolkata, there was a huge protest against Amit ji. Posters were being ripped off and here Amit ji was also like this (enacts being disheartened). The actor went there and asked Amitji, ‘Bhaisahab kaise hai?’ – Brother, how are you? and he said “Theek hun” – am fine and that’s all.
The actor also revealed how Bachchan’s acquaintances and even his father’s friends were talking bad on him for being involved in the scandal. Later, his name was acquitted, and the actor was given a clean chit after it was proved that he wasn’t involved in any of the wrongdoings.
In the same interview, Srivastava, who has also been a banker, he worked with the Allahabad Bank and recalled the days when Amitabh owned ABCL corporation was involved in a major financial crisis and was on the verge of bankruptcy owing to its immense debts.
Srivastava had once met Bachchan during the phase when he went to meet the superstar as a banker and remembered how the megastar folded his hands and ensured him to return the money.
When he met him, he immediately got up with folded hands, saying will return your money as soon as possible’vans informed him that we was there for that.
We returned due to because accountant’s mistake. You return the money when you can, and we trust you. Your intention is right which the bank recalls.
But in this kind of banking, never does transactions with other banks. Anjjan reminisced that returned to the bank and told the Manager to not file any suit. Gradually, Amitji returned the entire money due and payable by him to the Allahabad Bank.
Furthermore, the actor continued, “When ABCL account was there, he (Amitabh) was trapped in it. We used to go to his office from the bank to take statements and people were bluffing him. This is what his manager and he realised.
For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan rose from that phase following the stupendous success of Kaun Banega Crorepati aka KBC as well as a few films which restored his eminence.
