NCP MLAs play hide & go seek in House
NCP MLAs have resorted to playing hide & go seek in the ongoing session of the Maharashtra state assembly, making it arduous to figure out who is siding with which faction. Whereas Ajit Pawar claims the support of 40 MLAs, only 24 MLAs were officially spotted with him.
In the assembly, only 12 to 16 MLAs of NCP were seen sitting on ruling benches, while 12 to 14 MLAs were seen sitting with Opposition. The remaining MLAs were playing hide and go seek. There are 54 NCP MLAs in the assembly.
As per senior Congress MLA,
these NCP MLAs were showing up at the House merely to sign the attendance, and avoid sitting in the House in a bid to remain neutral in times of crisis in the party. The MLAs are in no mood to be spotted either with Ajit Pawar or with Sharad Pawar. Therefore, it’s very difficult to identify who has more MLAs with them.
As per senior NCP MLA from the Ajit Pawar faction this confusion will persist till such time Ajit Pawar is elevated as chief minister of Maharashtra.
