Bollywood’s Renowned Art Director Nitin Chandrakant Desai commits suicide at his ND Studios Karjat on Wednesday morning
A massive setback to Bollywood as the renowned Art Director Nitin Desai ended his life by committing suicide by hanging himself at his popular ND Studios in Karjat on Wednesday morning.
The abrupt suicide is shrouded in mystery. He would’ve turned 58 on 9th August.
Reportedly On Wednesday morning, when he didn’t respond to the house help, his associates broke open the door and found him hanging. His associates informed the police immediately.
Among the blockbuster films he had designed the sets for are Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Maachis, 1942 A Love Story, Lagaan.Jodhaa Akbar

During his career spanning twenty years, he has worked with directors like Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In 2002, he turned film producer with Chandrakant Productions’ Desh Devi, a devotional film on the Devi Mata of Kutch.
He had also designed sets for Bigg Boss.
Meanwhile the Khalapur Police is probing the mysterious death.
