PM Modi visits Pune schools remain closed and online classes announced
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Pune, some schools in the city preferred to remain shut while others announced online classes expecting traffic, road closures and security measures.
The Pune traffic police had issued an advisory to avoid Pune University Square, Budhwar Chowk, Sangamwadi Chowk and Fergusson College road among others. These road closures and diversions were to be in place from 6 am to 3 pm.
However, as per Deputy Director of Education Rajendra Ahire,
there was no official notification issued to schools to shut down.
