“The “Ramayana’ has been making headlines for various reasons even before mounting the sets.
latest news comes to the fore that Alia Bhatt owing to date issues has rejected the offer in the project.
In June 2023, it was was revealed that the renowned filmmaker had begun planning his ambitious project,
“The Ramayana” and as per earlier reports, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Yash from ‘KGF’ were all cast in pivotal roles.
But as of now, Alia Bhatt has bid adieu to the project.
On why there is a delay in progress of the project, a source reveals that “Ramayana” is a magnum opus and requires time and intense pre-production work, and since the makers are going into the smallest details of everything to get it right on the screen, things are progressing at a slower pace.
Also, as far as casting is concerned, Ranbir Kapoor is still committed to playing
Lord Ram, while Alia Bhatt, who was approached for the project ceases to be a part of it. The actress was in talks for the role of Goddess Sita, but the collaboration didn’t work out because of date issues.
Further, insider informs that Yash is very much a part of the film, and his look test is also done and the conversation has progressed positively.
The makers are optimistic on getting him on board, but he has not yet signed. Yash is also committed to National Award-winning director Geethu Mohandas for a big-scale action thriller, so his casting in the Ramayana depends on what he prioritises.
While talking over his idea of Ramayana in the current climate, as per Nitesh it’s very simple. He is also a consumer of the content that he creates and if he isn’t not going to offend himself, then he is very confident that he might not end up offending anybody else.
On the work front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ alongside Ranveer Singh. The film was a box-office success. Besides this, Alia also has Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa’ in her line-up.
