Red Chillies Pvt Ltd presentation and the Shah Rukh Khan Nayanthara starrer ‘Jawan’ released with a bang on September 7. There was a lot of buzz ahead of its release, but, opened with massive figures as anticipated.
Indoors of two days of its release, the Atlee directorial has entered the Rs 100 crore club at the domestic market .
Sources reveal that as per early estimates, on day 2, ‘Jawan’ earned Rs 53 crore nett in India for all languages, whereas on day 1, on Thursday, the film collected Rs 74.5 crore. It raked in Rs 65.5 crore in Hindi, Rs 5.3 crore in Tamil and Rs 3.7 crore in Telugu. With this the total collection of ‘Jawan’ stands at Rs 127.50 crore in India.
Reportedly, across the country, ‘Jawan’s Hindi version had an overall 42% occupancy with night shows having more footfalls of 70%. On day 1 & 2, Mumbai reported 43% occupancy and the NCR region had 53% occupancy.
Notedly, for the second day, the Hindi version performed the best in Chennai out of all the cities with 66% occupancy, whereas the Tamil and Telugu versions of the SRK starrer had 40% and 57% occupancy on day two, respectively.
Red Chillies Entertainment on Friday reported that ‘Jawan’ had grossed Rs 129 crore worldwide on day 1 and broke ‘Pathaan’s record of Rs 106 crore. On Day 2, it is reported to have crossed Rs 200 crore mark worldwide.
Meanwhile, Jawan is Shah Rukh Khan’s first pan-India film. He has been heaped with praises by South celebs like SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu among others.
The film also features Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles with Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in cameo appearances. Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Ridhi Dogra among others have pivotal roles.
