The late Ravi Chopra directorial Baghban Baghan completes 20 years today. The Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini
Classic family drama emerged as a box-office hit and is remembered even today for its highly emotional moments, performances and music.

According to Samir Soni, who played the role of son to Amitabh Bachchan and.Hema
Malini, shares his experience. .

Soni revealed that following its its release, suddenly there was a spike in senior citizens going to insure themselves and not for their children.

Samir Soni wasn’t too keen to the film but Ravi Chopra wanted him only as only be could do justice to the role.
Soni put a condition to play the son but with maximum scenes with Amit ji to which he agreed since he wanted him for that part.

Sharing screen space with the legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini
was a dream come true for Soni. I

Whenever he had met Amitji he touched his feet. He always invited him to the Diwali party at his residence. One of his greatest attributes is that he never makes you feel that he’s Amitabh Bachchan. He’s always quite relaxed, laughing and joking. He was so enthusiastic.

Hema ji, meanwhile, is grounded and a pleasure to work with. He didn’t realize then that he was a part of something so epic. His eyes couldn’t believe to have worked with two big legends when he almost said ‘No’ to this film!

Ravi Chopra too congratulated him after the film release and said, he was too good and Soni told him that he hadn’t done anything exceptional’.

Soni also shared screen with Salman Khan and Mahima Chaudhry and for him his joy knew no bounds working with them.
Baghban was a very influential film and it opened the eyes of children on their behaviour with parents.
