No sooner Dr.Nene posted them, fans wondered if Khalnayak 2 is on the cards. One of them commented, “Khalnayak team ek sath (team reunited).” “I think Kalnayak 2 is coming,” added another. Someone also said, “Missing Ramya Krishnan and Rakhee Ji in this get together.”

Notably, 30 years of Khalnayak
Khalnayak remains one of the most popular films of Subhash Ghai. Madhuri and Neena Gupta’s song “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai” was one of the highlights of Khalnayak and as per Alka Yagnik, initially the singer was shy on singing the Madhuri Dixit’s iconic song.

In 2020, Subhash Ghai had confirmed in the media that a sequel to Khalnayak was in the pipeline and said that for the last six-seven months he has only been creating content and now, he is ready with two bound scripts – a sequel to Khal Nayak and a remake of his first directorial, Kalicharan.” However, there’s no update on the film.

Khalnayak completed 30 years since its release. On the occasion, Subhash articulated he doesn’t have enough talent to meet the growing demands of the country. That’s why, mediocre people are hired.

If 20 good films are being made, only a handful has people who have the skills to make it successful. It’s their misconception that they hav enough talented people and that’s why most films today are not working. And when he talks about talent, it includes everyone who runs the entertainment business- from director, content head, actor, editor to the technicians.
