The actor walked the ramp on the bank’s of river Ganga and felt elated along with actor Kriti Sanon. He called the experience “a million times better than walking in Mumbai’s 5-star banquet”. The fashion show, which took place against the backdrop of Namo Ghat in the city, was organised by celebrity fashion designer, Manish Malhotra.
Several photos and videos from the show surfaced on social media. The theme of the event was ‘Banarasi Saree- A tapestry of Indian culture & Craftsmen’.

Calling the event ‘amazing’ and a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’, Ranveer said, “I was talking to the other models backstage that we have walked in many fashion shows, but this is once in a lifetime opportunity. Walking on the banks of river Ganga felt a million times better than walking at Mumbai’s 5-star banquet.”
He moved to continue that this event exhibits the exquisite craftsmanship of our weaver community. We deeply appreciate everything Shri Narendra Modi has done to protect and promote the weaver community. The vibrations and energy of this day are unforgettable. PM Modi has absolutely changed Kashi in these 10 years.
For the fashion show, Kriti was dressed in a red-coloured Banarasi silk lehenga. She looked gorgeous as she completed her look with a golden dupatta and a maang-tikka (a piece of jewellery). Ranveer looked royal in a golden-coloured silk kurta which he wore with a black dhoti and a matching shawl.
A video of the actors from the ramp was shared on the internet. In it, Ranveer and Kriti were seen waving at the audience from the stage.
They walked the ramp against the backdrop of fireworks and the astounding music of dhols and temple bells.
Elated to be wearing a handwoven Banarasi lehenga, Kriti also spoke in favour of promoting the heritage of Kashi. She said, “The best part about the Banarasi saree is that the weavers weave only one saree of a kind. It takes days to weave one piece. This thing should be taken out into the world. I am glad that I could be part of this initiative. Kashi is a very good example of Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi.”
Manish Malhotra shared a picture of himself with Ranveer and Kriti from the show and expressed his happiness as he wrote, “With my special muses tonight in #kashi #varanasi,” and added red heart emojis.
