In the midst of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ Amitabh Bachchan once shared a funny chronicle
from the sets of Ramesh Sippy’s directorial Sholay.

It’s well known that Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra shared screen space in the blockbuster film Sholay.

In the movie, Amitabh Bachchan portrays Jai and Dharmendra portrays Veeru, two criminals recruited by a retired police officer to apprehend a dacoit. The film was scripted by Salim-Javed and produced by Ramesh Sippy’s father, GP Sippy. Plugged as an action-adventure, Sholay released in 1975.

Amitabh Bachchan talked about getting stuck in a crowd of around 4,000 people with Dharmendra. The duo had to take a long ride in an auto to reach the shooting location.

Amitabh Bachchan admitted having felt overwhelmed by the large crowd.

Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan even shared how Dharmendra fired from a real gun while shooting for the climax of Sholay. As reported, in the episode, Amitabh Bachchan shared a story with contestant Preet Mohan Singh, a DIG with CRPF and a big fan of Sholay. Amidst their chat, Senior Bachchan recounted an incident from the movie’s climax when Dharmendra mistakenly fired a real gunshot. Fortunately, the bullet missed Amitabh Bachchan.

It’s been over 50 years since the release of the iconic film Sholay yet it continues to hold a special place in Hindi cinema. Even today, audiences fondly recall its dialogues. This film not only fostered a strong bond of friendship between Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra but also brought Hema Malini and Dharmendra closer. Even now, Sholay remains revered as one of the finest films in Indian cinema.

On the workfront, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Ganapath. He gears up to appear in a slew of upcoming films including Be Happy, The Intern, Vettaiyan, Karishmaa, Hasmukh Pighal Gaya, Section 84, Ishq Chakallas, Taalismaan, and The Great Man.
