Rajkumar Rao gears up to share screen space with Janhvi Kapoor in Mr. & Mrs. Mahi.

The film is based around a married couple with a mutual love for cricket.

In an interview Rajkumar shared on going the extra mile with every new film, that he tries and chooses different scripts and different characters to play but how he gets into it is tough to put into words. The process shifts from film to film.

He went on to add that With
Mr. & Mrs, Mahi they sat with Sharan Sharma to discuss their characters and relationship.

Elaborating on his versatile filmography, he further added, that it depends on the character and how you make it special. For a film like Srikanth, there’s a lot of extra hard work that goes into it. It’s a true story and a character with a physical trait. So you have to imbibe that in real life. But then there are films like Stree where you just have to have fun with your co-stars. You get to improvise. Of course, you keep the backstory alive. But it’s more about enjoying the scene.

Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, is a human drama and so the effort was to keep it layered and get people to relate to their story.

Mr. and Mrs. Mahi which also features Zarina Wahab, Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma and more, releases in theatres on May 31, 2024.
