Actors Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, captivated the cinegoers with their performance in Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Now, the duo are sharing screen space once and this time around for an upcoming web series Shandur.
The project is for the Indian OTT platform SonyLIV which ensures a thrilling tale set against a backdrop of breathtaking landscapes.
Sources close to the production house reveal that Fawad Khan will portray a polo-loving prince from Chitral, Pakistan. It is learnt that he even took polo lessons to ensure authenticity. While details about Saeed’s character remain under wraps, the project’s secrecy only fuels the excitement.
The series boasts a talented team behind the camera as well. Umera Ahmed, known for her captivating narratives, pens the script, while Asim Raza, who earlier collaborated with Khan on Behadd, helms the project .
The cast is further bolstered by Mikaal Zulfiqar and Hira Khan, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging viewing experience.
The shoot for the project will be on locations across Pakistan and the UK, with the majestic Shandur Top, the world’s highest polo ground at 3,700 meters which forms the highlight of the web series.
The shoot began in Chitral in April end and continued till mid-May before Fawad flew to Italy for his Netflix project’s shoot.
A peek of the team filming in Chitral, courtesy of makeup artist Adnan Ansari’s Instagram post, has further piqued fans’ curiosity.
