‘Kalki’ India’s biggest film of 2024 – surpasses ‘Fighter’ ‘HanuMan’ ‘Manjummel Boys’ in footfalls

‘Nag Ashwin directorial ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan starrer supercedes ‘HanuMan’, ‘Fighter’, ‘Manjummel Boys’ to gross
Rs.700 crore worldwide and to emerge as the highest grossing Indian film of 2024. The film
combines the elements of science fiction and Indian mythology and something that has clicked with the audience all across the country. It has now set a new record in terms of the highest footfalls for any film released this year.

Footfalls are different from basic box office numbers. It is the direct head count of people who went to theatres to watch the film. The data, therefore, helps to identify how many people actually watched the film as opposed to how many tickets were sold. As per trade website sacnilk report, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has recorded over 2 crore footfalls in six days. This is bigger than any other film released in 2024.
