Actress Asha Sachdev, who was born to a Muslim family as Nafeesa Sultan, began following Hinduism following her mother’s second marriage and emerged as one of the most popular character actors in the Hindi film industry. She still remains unmarried in her 60s after her fiance died in a car accident.

Asha Sachdev starrer has been multiple hits in the 1970s and 1980s such as Agent Vinod, Mehbooba, Satte Pe Satta, Woh Main Nahin, and others. In the 2000s, she was seen in Fiza, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, and Aaja Nachle.

She bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the 1977 film Priyatama. Besides, Asha, the Basu Chatterjee directorial featured Jeetendra, Neetu Singh, and Rakesh Roshan in leading roles.

While Asha was all set to get married to her fiance named Kisan Lal, with whom she had got engaged, sadly, Kisan Lal lost his life in a car accident a few days before their marriage and thereafter, she chose to remain single.

Notedly, Asha had played a pivotal role in the famous soap opera Buniyaad, whose 105 episodes aired on DD National from 1886 to 1987. The show, which dealt with the Partition of India, was re-aired multiple times.

For those unversed, Asha Sachdev is connected to Arshwad Warsi. After his divorce to her mother Razia, Asha Sachdev’s father Ashiq Hussain Warsi had a second marriage and through this marriage, he had a son named Arshad Warsi, who is now a popular Bollywood actor.
