Sunny Deol wraps up 70-day shoot for ‘Lahore 1947 on Tuesday
For Sunny Deol, it’s pack-up time on Lahore 1947 as on Tuesday, director Rajkumar Santoshi will call it a wrap on his period drama, which mounted the sets on in Mumbai in February. Sources reveal that the Sunny and Raj Kumar Santoshi had an intensive schedule that has brought them to the finish line. A production house source meanwhile reveals that it has been a non-stop 70-day schedule. Over the last few weeks, the unit was on a shoot for the climax involving an elaborate train sequence, at Film City.

“Lahore 1947” also features Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Mithun Chakraborty. No sooner the shoot gets wrapped on August 12, Raj Kumar Santoshi push into editing. While there will be few days patch work, the principal photography will be almost done. Plans are afoot for a January 2025 release.
Raj Kumar is overwhelmed for what he has been able to capture through the film. Apart from the climax, he feels more proud on the shape up of the crowd scenes. As per source close to the production house, the team had erected two grand sets at Film City and Madh Island for the project. Although, the movie marks Deol’s first collaboration with Aamir Khan, it is his fourth offering with Santoshi following Ghayal Damini and Ghatak.
