Veteran actress Mumtaz recently shared her experiences from the golden period of Hindi Cinema more particularly her interactions with the legendary actress Vyjayanthimala.

Mumtaz was acknowledged for her most exceptional roles in films like Aap Ki Kasam and her bond with Vyjayanthimala and saying that it was somewhat distant due to the latter’s reserved nature on film sets.

Over a candid interview, former Bollywood actress Mumtaz shared her experiences from the golden era of Indian cinema, particularly her interactions with the legendary Vyjayanthimala.

Mumtaz went on to explain that she Vyjayantimala didn’t talk to her” and throwing light on how Vyjayanthimala’s behavior made it difficult for younger and emerging actresses to connect with her.

Mumtaz elaborated that Vyjayanthimala’s reserved
countenance stemmed from the significant age and status difference amid them.

Vyjayanthimala was already an established actress when Mumtaz set foot to the industry entered the film industry in the 1960s. Mumtaz noted that Vyjayantimala being a big actress didn’t interact much with newcomers and highlighted the challenges faced by those who were new to the industry.

Notwithstanding Vyjayanthimala’s immense popularity and the affection audiences had for her, this
unresponsiveness created a barrier that many found difficult to cross.
