Vishwatama fame, has often adoringly recounted the late renowned actress Divya Bharti as an exceptional talent who had a bright future ahead of her.
In her candid thoughts, Sonam frequently highlights Divya Bharati’s vibrant screen presence and ability to infuse her roles with natural charm.
Notwithstanding Divy’s career and life being tragically cut short, Sonam acknowledges her impressive impact on the film industry and the void left by her untimely demise.
Adding that she was a very nice girl. Had she been alive today, she would be at the top. It’s an unfortunate accident and shouldn’t have happened, but what can we do now?
She further recalled when she passed away, she (Sonam) was about eight months pregnant with her son. She passed away in April, if I’m baby was born in May. She had spoken to her just a few days before her death.
However, her untimely demise led to Raveena Tandon playing the role. The film also featured Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles.
Remembering on her last conversation with Bharti, a few days before she passed away on April 5, 1993, after allegedly falling from the balcony window of her fifth-floor apartment in Versova, Sonam a that she used to tell her to look at the moon, saying that she would have a beautiful baby just like her. She was an actress with whom Sonam ad a great bond, and wherever she is, Sonam hopes she is happy. Divya was only 19 at the time of her death.
In the same interview, Sonam showcased that bond between two female actors was rare in those days. Interestingly, on Friendship Day, Sonam took to her Instagram handle to pay homage to her two friends from the industry, Sridevi and Divya. Sharing two sets of photographs with the late actors, the 51-year-old wrote, “Some friendships are not to be mentioned. It’s an emotional day for her.
