Badlapur school cleaning staff molests two minor girls in school’s washroom
Physical abuse on females and minor girls are hitting the headlines with no action being taken against the crime.
In the recent shocking incident two minor girls of a pre-primary school in Badlapur were molested by the cleaning staff of the school when they went to use the school’s washroom. This has sparked protests and trains were brought to a halt at both Thane and Badlapur railway stations.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered the formation of an SIT
led by top police officer Arti Singh to probe the incident.
The police have filed a case and arrested the accused identified as Akash Shinde who has been
sent to three days of police remand by the Court.
After finding out that their girls were sexually assaulted, the enraged parents, along with a few local people, rushed to the police station to lodge a complaint. Ironically, the Senior police inspector Shubhada Shitole allegedly delayed the case notwithstanding it being a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) case. Following this, the inspector was immediately transferred.
Meanwhile, the school administration has suspended the principal, the class teacher and the staff responsible for transporting the children.
After this incident the State Government must deploy security staff in all schools to avoid such incidents.
