Anupam Kher articulates misses having own child with Kirron Kher
Actor Anupam Kher is widely acknowledged for playing variety of characters in his career spanning four decades.
Among the many characters, Anupam Kher has also been a father to many actors including Shah Rukh Khan in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, late Sushant Singh Rajput in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, and Rani Mukerji in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. In fact, in his debut film, Saaransh, he was a retired teacher, who grieves the loss of his only son. However, the actor misses having a child of his own in his real life.
Anupam Kher, who tied the knot with actress Kirron Kher for the second time in 1985, has a stepson, Sikander.
In a recent interview Anupam Kher when asked if he misses having a child of his own, Anupam Kher quickly reacted that he didn’t feel it that much before, but now sometimes he does feel like it.
In the last seven-eight years, it’s not like, he is not happy with Sikander, but thinks its a joy to see a child growing up and a joy to see bonding and this is an honest answer. He could have avoided to answer this, but never wanted to do that. It’s okay. For Anupam Kher it isn’t a tragedy in his life. But, sometimes feels it would have been a nice thing.
He also added that all this while he was extremely busy working, but after he hit 50-55, started to feel the void. It was mostly because Kirron became busy, and so did Sikander. He works with kids in his organisationv- ‘The Anupam Kher Foundation’. Here lot of work is done with children, and sometimes when he sees his friends’ children and things like that… (he misses having children) but, it’s not a sense of loss.
Earlier, in an interview Anupam shared Sikander was four years when he came into his life. What his father was to him, Anupam is to him. But to say that he
doesn’t miss having a child of his own will be a lie,” revealed Anupam. The actor clarified that this has nothing to do with his stepson.
A source reveals that Anupam and Kirron tried to conceive a child together, but nothing worked out, notwithstanding taking medical help.
Earlier, Anupam was married to actress Madhumati Kapoor, while Kirron was married to Gautam Berry.
