Plans are afoot by renowned Filmmaker Aanand L. Rai to bring back “Heer” to build a ‘love universe’ on screen.
“Heer” is the adaptation of the classic Heer Ranjha. Originally envisioned in 2014, Rai aims to script a passionate and emotionally resonant re-narrative of the timeless love story. He is now on the lookout for his new muse for the film.
As per Aanand Rai, Heer might not be a standalone film.
He and his production house, Colour Yellow Productions, are set to revive a long-lost passion project—Heer.
Originally conceptualized in 2014, Rai had expressed his desire to create an ambitious and emotionally charged retelling of Heer Ranjha, a legendary romance that continues to inspire cinematic adaptations.
Now, after years on
hold, the project is finally back on track.
If industry buzz is to be believed, the filmmaker and his team plan to bring Heer to life by 2026, with a leading Bollywood actress set to headline the film.
