Asif Zakaria comes down heavily on BMC
Asif Zakaria, has come down heavily on the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for instead of prioritising bad roads for repair, they have blindly dug up the entire city making it impossible for not only vehicles but the public as well for smooth movement.
Explaining on the security concerns raised in the wake of the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, the Congress leader and three-time former councillor Asif Zakaria calls for better coordination and accountability from all stakeholders.
Infact after the Bandra attack on actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence, many residents have also been taking to social media about the dug-up roads in Bandra and other suburbs of Mumbai.
Mumbai is an international city and one of the safest cities. Crimes happen even in the most developed cities. One incident(Saif Ali Khan) shouldn’t be used to put the city down, but efforts need to be taken by all stakeholders to make the city safer.
Road digging has not been done in a planned manner. There are some roads that are in decent condition and could do without repairs for the next five-seven years. Instead of looking at the roads that need repair on a priority basis and doing the work in a phased manner, the BMC has dug up the whole city, causing a lot of inconvenience to the residents and smooth movement of vehicles
again.
