Bombay HC directs Matunga’s Kapol Society to convene urgent meeting
In a new development, the Bombay High Court directed Matunga’s Kapol Society to convene urgent Special General Body Meeting to decide on the redevelopment of its 84-year-old building.on redevelopment before March 31.
The decision comes in the midst of a longstanding dispute over the removal of three managing committee members and their alleged obstruction of the redevelopment process.
Reportedly, Justice Sandeep Marne, on March 13, observed that even as the three managing committee members, Dr. Vijay Shah, Dr. Meena Shah, and Girish Chauhan hold rights to challenge their removal, the redevelopment cannot be stalled any further.
The Judge further added that in view of the peculiar facts and circumstances, he is inclined to adopt a slightly unusual course of action by directing the convening of an urgent SGM.
