In the backdrop of the 45 years of Subhash Ghai directorial “Karz”Simi Garewal celebrated it at the Red Lorry Film Festival in Mumbai, heaping praises on Rishi Kapoor, Subhash Ghai, and the cast. Tina Ambani and Neetu Kapoor joined the reunion.
Notably,.Simi was a part of Karz released in 1980. She expressed immense admiration for co-star, late actor Rishi Kapoor, filmmaker Subhash Ghai and the film’s remaining cast. Tina Ambani and Neetu Kapoor were also a part of the reunion. Karz was a blockbuster success.
Addressing the media, Simi Garewal recalled working with the film’s stellar star cast. She said, “Never thought 45 years back that we will all be together again. It was a wonderful experience to work in Karz. Her Chintu [Rishi Kapoor], who is her old pal and her love, she was happy to work with him again. Tina was so adorable, that Simi adored her.”
She then spoke on Neetu Kapoor, who was standing on the stage and called her an “amazing women”. Garewal then spoke about filmmaker Subhash Ghai and showered him with praise. She said, “It [Karz] was his first production and he has such passion for his films and it was like a fire burning at him.
That fire kindled flames within us. That’s why he gave his all to the film and he made us all give to the film as well. But one thing more I’d like to say.”
She further went on to add that in our industry, when people get success, they get money and fame but her friend Subhash ji, what he has done is that he has built a new generation to take over the film industry as his legacy for years to come. She gets goosebumps when she thinks about what you’ve done.”
Meanwhile, Subhash Ghai recently revealed why he has stopped making films. Speaking on a chat show on his chat show Game Changers, Subhash ji doesn’t see love among people and the team anymore. He pointed out the increasing commercialisation of the industry, where creativity appears to take a backseat and only deadlines matter.
