Shanaya Kapoor is clearly not here to play it safe. Earlier this month, the daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor gave fans their first look at her debut film Tu Yaa Main with a teaser that instantly caught attention.
Backed by Aanand L. Rai, the film also stars Adarsh Gourav—best known for The White Tiger and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, in which he starred alongside Shanaya’s longtime friend Ananya Panday. The teaser promised a slick, twist-filled thriller, and left fans buzzing with excitement. Many even predicted that Shanaya could surpass her star-kid contemporaries.
Now, according to fresh reports, Shanaya already has two more projects lined up. And one of them is a biggie—Student of the Year 3, where she’s reportedly taking on a double role. That’s right. Not many actors take on such a challenge so early in their careers, but Filmfare reports that Shanaya is doing just that.
A source close to the project called it “a bold move,” adding that SOTY 3 might end up being a breakout moment for her, even if it releases after her debut.
The Student of the Year franchise has long been a launchpad for star kids—Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, and Ananya Panday all got their big starts here. Shanaya stepping into the franchise with a double role only ups the intrigue. The film is said to feature her in two sharply contrasting avatars, offering a chance to flex her range right out of the gate.
Alongside SOTY 3, Shanaya has also reportedly signed a film opposite Munjya star Abhay Verma. That’s on top of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, her already-completed film with Vikrant Massey, which is awaiting release
Fans on social media are already rallying behind her. One user wrote, “She’s the real underdog—we all underestimated her and overestimated Suhana.” Another quipped, “Whoever her agent is, give them a raise.
