PM Modi visits Haryana fulfills his well-wisher’s vow
One Rampal Kashyap based out in Kaithal Haryana, had taken a vow that he will remain barefooted till such time he Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister of the country.
His wish was thus fulfilled on Monday, 14 April the auspicious New Year for the Keralites, in a comforting moment, PM Modi met him in Yamunanagar, and marked the end of Kashyap’s 14-year vow to go barefoot.

PM Modi gifted Kashyap a new pair of shoes, which he wore in his presence. Upon meeting Kashyap,
PM Modi affectionately asked, “Hey brother, why did you do this?”
PM Modi appreciated Kashyap’s dedication but encouraged him to redirect his energy toward social or national work in the future. This meet took place when PM Modi was on Haryana tour, where he also inaugurated several development projects and paid tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Jayanti.
In the end, taking to his X post, PM Modi shared a video and wrote,
“At today’s public meeting in Yamunanagar, met
Shri Rampal Kashyap Ji from Kaithal. He had taken a vow 14 years ago- that he will only wear footwear after he became PM and he got to meet him. He feels humbled by people like Rampal Ji and while accepting their affection, want to request everyone who takes up such vows
‘cherish your love…please focus on something that is linked to social work and nation-building!’
Earlier in the day, the PM flagged off the first commercial flight amid Hisar and Ayodhya and laid the foundation stone for a new terminal at Hisar Airport. In Yamunanagar, the PM laid the foundation stone for the increase in the capacity of a Deenbandhu Chotu Ram power plant to 800 MW.
