FWICE condemns brutal attack on tourists in Kashmir’s Pahalgam
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees amid stringently condemning the terrorist attack on tourists in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday 22 April also declares blanket boycott on Pakistani artists and technicians.
Pahalgam, Kashmir.
This contemptible act, claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF) a proxy of the Pak based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) specifically targeted a religious community, echoing the horror of the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel.
By dint of these repeated attacks, FWICE reaffirms its unwavering commitment to national interest and solidarity and reiterate their directive, originally issued on February 18, 2019, calling for complete
non-cooperation with all Pakistani artists, singers and technicians within the Indian film and entertainment industry.
Notwithstanding this ongoing directive, FWICE have been made aware of the recent collaboration with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan for the Hindi film Abir Gullal.
Taking into account the recent attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, FWICE is once again impelled to issue a blanket boycott on all Pakistani artists, singers, and technicians participating in any Indian film or entertainment projects.
This includes performances or collaborations occurring anywhere in the world.
FWICE would also wish to emphasize that any member of their organization or its affiliate associations such as the actors, directors, other technicians and Producers or the Production houses found cooperating with Pakistani personnel will be subject to disciplinary action. Further, the Federation will take all necessary steps to ensure that Abir Gullal is not released in India.
Nation comes first—always. FWICE stands united with the victims of this attack and urges the entire film fraternity to uphold the spirit of national integrity and respect the sacrifices made by their brave security forces and innocent citizens.
