PM Modi at G7 Summit said ‘this isn’t the end of Wa⁸
Notwithstanding Israel and Iran wobbling on the edge of a blossoming war, PM Modi said that resolving issues through dialogue and restoring stability is the cry of humanity.
Speaking in the presence of Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides in Nicosia, Modi reiterated his message that this isn’t the era of war.
PM Modi’s visit to Cyprus – the first by any Indian PM in 23 years – saw the 2 sides into discussion of efforts to scale up cooperation in defence, security, connectivity with focus on IMEEC, with the Indian PM strongly backing sovereignty and territorial integrity of the eastern Mediterranean country that is not recognised by Turkiye, a Pakistan ally.
Following his talks with Cyprus President, PM Modi voiced that the two countries have expressed concern about the ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Europe.
Their negative impact is not limited to that region alone. Both believe that this is not the era of war.
PM.Modi had expressed India’s concerns over the situation in West Asia, stressing the need for an early restoration of peace, in a conversation last week with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu. The region remains crucial for India’s energy and diaspora interests.
