Hindi Cinemas much sought after actor Bobby Deol represented
his legendary actor father Dharmendra at the premiere of Ramesh Sippy’s directorial “Sholay” at the Toronto Film Festival.

Notably, the film continues to inspire filmmakers and audiences alike, and its premiere at TIFF underscores the universal appeal of Bollywood storytelling.

With global audiences revisiting its magic, Sholay’s legacy as one of Indian cinema’s finest achievements remains stronger than ever.

The film returned to the big screen in style at the 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), where its newly restored 4K version premiered on Saturday. 

Bobby Deol shared attended the premiere on behalf of his father, Dharmendra, and shared the spotlight with director Ramesh Sippy, producer Shehzad Sippy, and Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) Director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur. 
 
The red carpet was lined with eager fans and media as the cast and filmmakers interacted, with Bobby captivating admirers by signing autographs and posing for pictures.
The screening took place at the 1,800-seater Roy Thomson Hall a fitting venue for a film that has captivated audiences for nearly five decades. 
 
Originally released in 1975, ‘Sholay’ is celebrated for its gripping narrative, iconic dialogues, and evergreen songs like ‘Yeh Dosti’ and ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba.’
