Shabana Urmila Divya laud Cancer Survivor Tannishtha Chatterjee

Tannishtha Chatterjee, notwithstanding diagnosed of stage 4 oligo metastatic cancer
embarks on her journey for the Busan International Film Festival to showcase her directorial venture “Full Plate” her gal-pals celebrated her in the most adorable way.

Shabana Azmi shared a couple of group pictures on her Instagram featuring Tannishtha, Urmila Matondkar, Sandhya Mridul, Shahana Goswami, Divya Dutta, and Azmi herself.

The pictures exhibits the big gal-pals sharing a laugh together.
In another video, Tannishtha is spotted cutting a cake even as her friends cheer for her. She’s been addressed as Tiger Tan.

For those unversed, despite diagonised of cancer, Tannishtha on completed the
post-production of her film.
Taking to her Instagram post, Shabana wrote in the caption, “To Tiger Tan as she heads to Busan International Film Festival with her directorial venture which she completed during her cancer treatment. You rock of Gibraltar.”

Tannishtha On Female Bonding-amidst media interaction Tannishtha revealed on how her
gal-pals stood by her amidst her tough journey. Talking about their solid support, Tannishtha Chatterjee says, that they have been taking turns to come to the hospital. Shabana and Tanvi visited the hospital many times. Even Urmila and Divya also visited her. They have been visiting me regularly.”

Adding that “Dipti Gupta, a very well-known cinematographer, has been such a rock-solid support, visited her on many occasions. Sanjay Suri, a very dear friend of hers (Sanjay Suri and Tannishtha worked in the critically-acclaimed film Chauranga back in 2014) also visited her in the hospital. He has also been a caregiver to his mum. There are many others who have taken turns to do this. She has never felt alone. For every chemo cycle, there were two-three people who would divide hours among themselves. They figured it out on their own. She wasn’t telling people. They formed groups and have been there with her throughout. It felt wonderful,” she tells the media.

“Full Plate” features Kirti Kulhari in the lead, with a supporting cast that includes Monica Dogra, Sharib Hashmi, and Indraneil Sengupta. The film premieres at the Busan International Film Festival 2025.
