PM Modi will release a postage stamp and a coin to mark the centenary year of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).

According to the sources, the release of the stamp and coin will take place on October 1, 2025 in New Delhi and will see the participation of RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale.
RSS, the ideological parent of ruling BJP, is completing its 100th year on the day of Vijayadashami falling on October 2, 2025 this year.

Officials involved in the preparations of the event informed that postal stamp on RSS was not in the list of the stamps which is prepared for each year in advance.

As per official it was a spontaneous idea of the Prime Minister. It was deliberated as well as executed in a record time.

The move is also being seen as a strategic step taken by the Prime Minister in recent past to dissolve, what the opposition terms as ‘differences’, between the BJP and the RSS. The Opposition’s criticism often hints towards the long pending wait for BJP’s new party president which sources say is a bone of contention between the party and Sangh. Though, both BJP and Sangh, on several occasions, have refuted of having any ‘differences’ in ideology and aim which is to serve the nation.
In March this year, PM Modi went to Nagpur for the first after becoming the prime minister in 2014. in his public address, he described the Sangh as the ‘banyan tree’ of India’s immortal culture.
