Even as Aditya Dhar’s directorial spy thriller Dhurandhar continues its strong box office run, the film has now received praise from actress Shraddha Kapoor. Her reaction has quickly emerged as a talking point within the industry.
The actress shared her views on Dhurandhar through Instagram stories. Her comments drew attention for their timing and choice of words, the tone of which were initially misunderstood. In one post, Shraddha wrote, “Truly terrible of Aditya Dhar to make a film like Dhurandhar.” Although it appeared critical at first, the remark was clearly meant in a humorous manner.
In her next story, she continued the joke.
She called it “terrible” to make audiences wait three months for Part 2. She urged the makers to prepone the sequel’s release.
Shraddha further described the film as a “phenomenal experience.” Adding that she would have returned to theatres immediately if her work commitments allowed. Her praise showcased the film’s strong impact.
She also placed Dhurandhar among major 2025 releases such as Chhaava and Saiyaara. According to her, the year 2025 has been strong for Hindi cinema overall. This comparison further boosted the film’s buzz.
Shraddha also addressed the controversies surrounding the film’s release. She referred to what she called “negative PR and manufactured controversies.” Notwithstanding these, she said the film connected well with audiences.
Emphasising audience trust, she stated that external negativity cannot harm a genuinely good film. Her comments were widely appreciated by fans. They also sparked further discussion online.
Yami Gautam, Aditya Dhar’s wife, responded warmly to Shraddha’s support. She thanked the actress for publicly backing the film. The exchange was well received on social media.
