Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production house B62 Studios, has permanently been blacklisted from seeking shooting permissions in Mumbai after civic authorities flagged repeated safety violations on the set of Dhurandhar 2. The action was approved by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Allegations suggest improper use of flammable materials and unauthorized generator vans, resulting in a hefty fine of Rs 1 lakh and the loss of their security deposit. Read on to know more in detail.
Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is set to arrive in cinemas in March this year. While the buzz around the film is quite high, it seems that the filmmaker’s production house is facing a legal issue from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Notedly, the civic body’s A ward office has submitted a written complaint to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Zone 1) and sought permanent blacklisting of B62 Studios from applying for permission for filming in the future.
The report further stated that the office has proposed a penalty of Rs 1 lakh for allegedly filming on a building’s terrace and using generator vans without any authorization.
The report also stated that the ₹25,000
security deposit submitted by the applicant has been forfeited.
As per the report, the production house was given permission by the officials on January 30 for shooting on February 7 and 8 amid Modi Street and Perin Nariman Street
Which falls under the jurisdiction of Ward A through the Maharashtra Film, Stage, and Cultural Development Corporation Limited.
In the meanwhile, authorities stated that the production team flouted the safety regulations by using crackers and flammable materials, which were strictly prohibited.”
