caught red-handed for breaking laws
As per news reports various real instances of police officers in India being arrested for bribery, often after anti-corruption bureaus set up a trap.
In India, the punishment for a public servant found guilty of accepting a bribe is a jail term of three to seven years, along with a fine. Citizens can report grievances regarding police misconduct and corruption to the relevant authorities
According to police indormation, such incidents are typically investigated, and if evidence (like recorded conversations or marked currency) is collected, legal action and conviction under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988
The image shows a corrupt police inspector identified as Kailash breaking law and indulging in ‘bribery’.
He says “his law runs in this district!” – Inspector Kailash growled, slapping a poor auto driver hard just because
he didn’t have ₹5000 for a bribe. A woman in a black saree seated in the back of the auto couldn’t take it. She said firmly, “Stop! You are abusing your uniform.” Kailash laughed, “You’ll teach me law? Go, I’ll make you taste the lock-up!” He pushed and locked her in. Vaishali sat quietly in the dark. Outside, the inspector was sipping tea, completely unaware that the woman he locked up thinking she was ordinary was actually the new IPS officer Vaishali Singh, on an undercover inspection. Half an hour later, when another officer looked inside the lock-up and saluted, the tea cup fell from Kailash’s hand. He was arrested and suspended.
