It comes as a most shocking news that on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stripped-off Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha from his position as the Deputy Leader of the Party in the Upper House.
Reportedly, Punjab MP Ashok Mittal has been appointed as the new Deputy Leader.
According to party sources AAP has requested the Rajya Sabha Secretariat not to allocate speaking time to Chadha from the party’s allotted quota, effectively limiting his role in parliamentary debates.
Although officially framed as a routine organizational reshuffle, the move is widely seen as a result of internal party friction following Chadha’s perceived distance from key party issues, including his absence during the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal.
Raghav Chadha responded on social media with a video highlighting his past speeches, accompanied by a “evil eye” emoji, stating he was “silenced, not defeated”.
