PM Modi condoles death of Qatar’s Father Amir; India observes National mourning

India observed one-day national mourning on July 13 after the passing of Qatar’s Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs. The national flag flew at half-mast, and all official entertainment was canceled to honor the former Emir.

Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to the former Emir, recognizing him as a visionary who transformed Qatar and a dear friend of India.
His tribute:
“We feel profound sadness at the death of the Father Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He was a visionary leader who guided Qatar to great levels of development and prosperity.”
