Jaya Bachchan corroborated that her father was initially hesitant and disapproved of the marriage because Amitabh was then a struggling actor.
Claims that Jaya lacked cordial relationships, behaved disrespectfully toward her in-laws, and caused a rift requiring Amitabh to live in ‘Prateeksha’ while she lived in ‘Jalsa’ were all made by former family associate Amar Singh. These dramatic claims have never been confirmed or validated by the Bachchan family itself.
